Dr. Kristen Ross (VTSU Castleton) and I are co-investigators on a new NSF grant awarded through the Dynamics of Integrated Socio-Environmental Systems (DISES) program. The project, titled "Management of linked human and ecosystem health threats in the private woodland socio-environmental system" brings together experts from behavioral science, entomology, human dimensions of natural resources, and forest ecology to investigate the roles of individual and social learning in the management of interacting ecosystem and public health threats. As a part of this project, we will be researching associations between invasive plant species and blacklegged ticks. Congratulations to Allie Gardner (University of Maine, Orono), the Principal Investigator of the award!
